10 weeks to go

This morning I woke up and realized that 10 weeks (maybe a little before a little after) from now we will get to meet our little daughter. I can't express how excited I feel right now and how wonderful I know this change in our lives will be. I asked Johnathan what he was most excited about and he told me he was excited to feed Ailbe a little mashed potato at Thanksgiving. Although we are all aware that he can't do that, I still thought it was super sweet and a total "Johnathan" thing to say. Last night I asked my mum what she was most excited for and she just started to cry. It was sad and sweet at the same time as she told me she was just overwhelmed with joy but that it seemed like I was just in diapers yesterday (um I'm 28 lol)... but I do understand what she is saying. She went on to say she was just excited to meet little Ailbe. I think I will continue to ask family members what they look forward to and make sure to keep note of it for Ailbe to look back and read about when she is able to. Myself, I am most excited to meet her and to see who she looks like and shares the personality of. I know she will be completely independent but I am so curious to see if it's a little Johnathan, Allison or what combination of looks that she has. Sound funny?

We have another scan on Tuesday (so updated pictures to come) and our shower is coming up in two weeks and we are so excited to celebrate with our family and close friends! The weeks are flying by and I just wanted to share my excitement with everyone!

Pregnancy Class

On Thursday (our four year anniversary) we started our pregnancy courses. Let's just say Johnathan isn't the best student. Snacks were provided for pregnant women and Johnathan had no trouble sitting eating all of them!!!! I leaned over and told him to remember I was going to be in labor and he would be in charge of remembering all these details and with his mouth full of Oreo cookies he mumbled mmmhmmm.

After two hours of learning about labor without pain relief it was time to learn how to breath and help massage your pregnant wife into a comfy position. Lets just say that Johnathan can't sit "criss cross apple sauce" very well so he was awkward to begin with. Once he (not the pregnant one) eventually got on the floor it was all laughs and giggles from there. For some reason I/we couldn't take it seriously. I mean ten couples were all laying on the floor massaging away and Johnathan and I were sitting there giggling. I think it started with the ear rub lol!!! It was just too much to take seriously. I have no problem getting a massage one on one but, with twenty strangers in the room taking it so seriously it was a little laughable for me.

Anyway needless to say I tried to memorize everything being the studious teacher and Johnathan well lets just say I think he knows where to find the snacks on the maternity ward.

Too funny and never a dull moment!
