Ailbe and her Godmother Auntie Elaine :)

Ailbe with her big buddy Chewy :) (all 200lbs of him) He's really starting to like her lol! He actually just recently noticed she's staying and they've become good friends! He likes to eat anything she's waving around.

Ailbe's Cake :)

OH MY (A 5 month ReCap)

Well I simply cannot believe it's been 5 months since I last posted a blog. Simply put, I've been busy. Being a new mum poses many challenges and trials but I can from the bottom of my heart say that my sweet Ailbe is worth everyone. Sometimes new paths in life close old doors and this is something I'm noticing everyday. It seems to me that you have to be a mama to really "get it". I don't say that to exclude any non mama's it's just....true lol.

Over the past five months Ailbe has become an active crawler, she sleeps well, eats well, plays with friends now and loves....just about everything. She is a smiler and is such a happy baby. She usually only cries when she desperately wants something or if she's tired. We've made many new friends over the course of this year and we are so thankful for those new people in our lives. On the other hand it seems that some of my closest friends have drifted away and from that I have mixed feelings :(

Ailbe was recently baptized at Ascension Lutheran Church here in Thousand Oaks. The service was just beautiful and it meant a lot to us, and a WHOLE lot to grammy lol! We had fun and enjoyed a nice brunch at Grammy's afterwards. Sidenote- Grammy is A-mazing!

Ailbe has a new Godmother. Non other than Auntie E herself! If you'd like an insight into just how seriously Auntie E takes her role... here goes...the other day we were at volleyball and a new player said to ME "Is that your daughter?" and Auntie E responds "Yes, that's OUR daughter." Very cute, funny and my family in a nutshell! <3

Johnathan (THANK BABY JESUS) got a teaching job at the very end of summer so we are both back in the teaching game. I am a job share teacher and it is the best thing I could've done! (besides staying home completely but, yeah we need to win the lotto for that one!). I work mostly two, sometimes three, days a week and between 8-10 in a month so it's pretty great! I keep my foot in the door to teaching (holding my seniority) and I get to spend a lot of time with my precious Bee.

Papa has been spending a lot of time here on the weekends (he lives in Santa Monica). My dad LOVES Ailbe. And when I say LOVES, I mean LOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS! Honestly! It's the cutest thing every watching him with her! He is such a good papa!

Being a mother is truly the most rewarding "job" i've ever had. I don't see being a mum as a job but I know that it is. I am constantly impressed by other mothers around me and amazed at what my own mum did for my sister and myself but on the other hand I sometimes see moms and think, holy sugar, you really should need to take a test to be a mother, or some kind of screening or I don't know but something! I mean it just makes me....sad when I see how some people act, but again, I won't judge :/

I am still coaching volleyball. We have had to deal with some major PITA's through our coaching years but the good news is it's rarely one of the players :) I know I continue to coach solely for the kids and their futures. Enough said.

Well, the Beezle just woke from her nap! Hope to catch you all soon... let's hope before 5 months pass!
